When Your Bumpers Stop Bumpin’

Jun 16, 2012

We recently set up and refelted this seven-foot custom pool table that had been built by Best Billiards about 12 years ago. The cushion rubber that Best had used was just starting to get a little hard along the cushion’s nose. I recommended to my client that we change out all of the cushion rubber to avoid having dead cushions just a couple of years later. We moved this pool table over to our client’s Brea, CA home from Santa Ana. She had just purchased it used from a friend who had enjoyed it for all those years. But now it was time to be enjoyed all over again by our client.

After replacing all of the cushion rubber and refelting the table with new wine billiard cloth our client and her friends will be able to enjoy this properly functioning slate pool table for the next 15-20 years. We typically do most of our recushion jobs when a pool table changes hands. The old owners usually haven’t used the pool table for some time and therefore don’t realize that the cushions aren’t up to snuff.
