Slate adds hundreds of pounds of weight to a pool table, which adds stability and allows for precise billiards play. Even though you may not be at a pro level of billiards play now, you can always bring your game there with practice and desire. All pool tables may look alike, but a slate pool table will outperform and outlast a non-slate pool table for many, many years.
