The Pool Table King’s Blog
Ok, so this has got to be one of the most difficult pool table moving jobs that the pool table king has ever handled. It started out pretty routine. My team and I arrived on time at our client’s Huntington Beach, CA home to disassemble his eight foot Gandy pool table. Our clients are downsizing and rather than give away his beloved slate pool table, he decided to sell it to his cousin who lives in Surprise, AZ. We were hired to dismantle the three piece slate Gandy pool table and move it down two flights of stairs to the garage where we’d be crating the slates for the long distance trip to AZ.
Everything was going pretty smoothly, no surprises, yet. When it came time to move the pool table cabinet downstairs, we soon realized it would not fit sideways through the door. I looked at the cabinet, trying to figure out how to break it down into smaller components. No such luck, this cabinet had screws and nails holding the corners together. The homeowner and I both scratched our heads. The next thing he said was, “let me go grab some rope”! I snapped these pictures from the rooftop and down below on the ground. This was the first time I’ve had to lower a pool table down the side of a house…and hopefully the last!
