Slowing Things Down

This DLT billiard table in Laguna Niguel, California was playing a little off. The factory cushions were set about an 1/8 inch too low, causing the balls to come off the rail too quickly. This, paired with worsted cloth, made it frustrating for the  owner to play a decent game of eight ball. When moved it from nearby Laguna Hills to its new home, we placed new standard cloth in Golden. This cut down on the speed a little. We also adjusted the rails so that they now sit a bit higher to give the balls a more accurate bounce. It isn’t a permanent solution, but one that will last until at least the next time they recushion and refelt their pool table.

Even a flawed pool table, can give you great games if properly installed by a professional billiard mechanic. Quick thinking and years of experience saved the day.
