I personally have written all of the text on this website with the exception of David’s blog posts and information that we are allowed to use from our manufacturers. David spends hours uploading photos and writing about his service jobs. It is a fun thing to do, but he also does it to help our website stay relevant. For another company to copy and paste our information verbatim is a slap in the face.
And, it isn’t just one company we have found to be doing this. We have contacted pool table manufacturers, distributors and service technicians all over the country to remove our stuff. They have taken a few words, a couple of sentences, a paragraph, even entire html pages, not to mention David’s personal images. There is usually some finger pointing back and forth between pool table company and web designer, but after a bit all companies have complied with our requests. The funny thing is, we would have given the green light to use our stuff had we been asked. Just as long as our name mentioned with a link.
We are frustrated, but also a bit flattered that so many folks in the Billiard Industry have noticed our website. We strive to give the most accurate information in the clearest possible wording so that our customers not only feel comfortable working with us, but also learn a little bit more each time they visit our site. What is that they say again? Oh yeah, “imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.”
